Description: Mattawoman Creek Art Center will be hosting Two Rivers Art Workshops for a Basic Oil Painting 3 day workshop with instructor Nicole Hamilton. This beginning oil workshop centers around the basics of composition, value, and color. Attendees will work on these concepts while creating a beautiful still life. Each student is encouraged to bring an item that they would like to paint for their study. There will be additional items available if needed. Nicole will show her process of beginning with Brunaille and then how to layer over this with color. This is a great introduction to oil painting and emphasis is placed on how to develop a strong foundation for realistic work.

Nicole Hamilton is a fine artist who paints classical still life and portraits in oil. Her dedication to traditional techniques can be seen in the timeless elegance of her work. She graduated from Colorado State University with a BFA and has studied at the Art League of Alexandria under Robert Liberace and at Zoll Studio of Fine Arts with Matt Zoll in Luthersville, MD.

Afternoon snacks and beverages will be provided. Please bring a lunch.
