Culinary Story of Mount Aventine: Stuffed Ham

Cost: $20 per person for one session and $35 per person for two sessions

Description: Join the "Friends of Chapman State Park" for their Summer Program Series: Culinary Story of Mount Aventine. This two session program features food historian, Joyce White. Joyce is the foodways consultant for the 1801 Riverdale House Museum in Riverdale Park, MD and was they consultant for the restoration of the 18 century kitchen at Annapolis's William Paca House. On Sunday, September 8th from 2-4 p.m. Joyce will start the first of two program series "How to prepare a Southern Maryland Stuffed Ham", the iconic dish served at holiday celebrations. Ham stuffed with fresh greens and onions (stuffed ham), is a signature dish in Southern Maryland and in a small area of Cajun country.

On Sunday, October 13th, from 2-4 p.m., Joyce will present the second program series " A Taste of Southern Maryland". Joyce will discuss and demonstrate the preparation of Southern Maryland specialties. There will be generous food and drink tastings for both events. To attend one session of your choice is $20 per person and to attend both sessions is $35 per person.  Seating is limited, so register ASAP.
