The Maryland Department of Natural Resources is offering First Day Hikes throughout the beautiful state of Maryland.

Meeting Location: Mt. Aventine at Chapman State Park - 3452 Ferry Place, Indian Head, MD 20640​
Degree of Difficulty: Moderate
Length of Hike: approximate round trip distance of 2.5 miles
Things to Bring: Binoculars (if you have them) and water, wear appropriate footwear for hiking

Additional Information: Join park staff, the Friends of Chapman State Park, and members of the Southern Maryland Audubon Society for a First Day Birding Hike. Start the year out right with a bird walk at Chapman State Park - one of our true gems in Charles County where history and unique ecology come together.This hike is not stroller friendly or recommended for pets.
