The Charles County Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism  presents: Gentleman or Traitor: Clement Dorsey and the Whiskey Scandal and The Lost Breweries of Port Tobacco
 
Location: Port Tobacco Stagg Hall -  8450 Commerce Street, Port Tobacco
Cost: Free


Enjoy the guided tours of Historic Stagg Hall, Courthouse and Burch House 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Wednesday – Sunday, and Monday by pre-arranged appointment.

Visit Port Tobacco and involve yourself in the debate whether war requires honorable or cutthroat conduct!! The Benedict whiskey incident during the War of 1812 is the basis for an interactive theatre experience lasting approximately 20 minutes. Suitable for all ages, performances begin promptly at 11:00.  When directed, audience participation is encouraged. Presented by the Farm Heritage Conservancy and the Charles County Department of Recreation, Parks & Tourism, Tourism Division.


Special Feature: Noon - 2 p.m. | The Lost Breweries of Port Tobacco

Visit the archeology display about Port Tobacco's lost taverns and breweries. Experience history with hands on interactions with some of the artifacts and get your questions answered.

Don't forget to stop by the Port Tobacco Historic Village on Friday, August 2, for a feature "Matthew Henson Arctic Exploration" at Port Tobacco - Courthouse. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
