The Commissioners established the Charles County Commission for Women in 1996 by Resolution #96-34 to better define and identify services needed for women in the county. The Commission for Women works to raise awareness of issues affecting women and families by serving as a conduit between women and existing services and advocating for programs, education, and legislation. Members are appointed by the Charles County Commissioners for 4-year terms. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Department of Economic Development Conference Room located at 10665 Stanhaven Place, Suite 206, White Plains, Maryland 20695. Commission for Women meetings are open to the public.
