Sponsorship opportunities now available
Kick off the school year with Commissioner Amanda M. Stewart, M.Ed. (District 3) at her annual “Back-to-School” Community Fiesta on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mattawoman Middle School (10145 Berry Road, Waldorf). Students attending Pre-K through 12 grades are invited to attend. Arrive early, as the first 200 children present will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The “Back to School” Community Fiesta will focus on saying no to bullying, drugs, and texting and driving. During the event, children will have the opportunity to sign pledges to “say no.” Non-profits, local businesses, and state agencies will provide safety and health information and resources for parents. Light refreshments will be served.
You can help prepare a local student for school by becoming an event sponsor. Multiple sponsorship opportunities are available, and sponsorship commitments are requested by Monday, July 29. Sponsors are recognized in select advertising materials both prior to and during the event. Those interested in monetary donations need to complete the Receipt for Cash Donations form. Sponsorship information can be downloaded online https://bit.ly/2LwAqST, completed and emailed to StewartEvents@CharlesCountyMD.gov.
