PUBLIC NOTICE

The Charles County Commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., in the County Commissioners' Meeting Room of the Charles County Government Building, La Plata, Maryland, to consider proposed revisions to the previously approved Master Plan for Bryan Village Planned Residential Development (PDZA #48-04)

Bryan Village, Planned Residential Development (PRD)

The properties subject to PDZA #48-04 are known as Parcel 274; found on Tax Map 5 and further described as  Bryans Village Phase 1 Lots 1-43; 80-84; 106-127; 188-189; Open Space Parcels A, B, C, D, E, F & G and Bryans Village Phase 2 Lots 62-63; 99-105; 128-167; Open Space H and Residue Parcel.  The property is located west of Mathews Road; south of Myers Estate; and north of North Indian Head Estates.  Planned Development Zone Amendment (PDZA) #48-04 was originally approved by the Charles County Commissioners by adopting Ordinance Number 96-6 on February 13, 1996 to rezone total of 77.7 +/- acres from RM, Medium Density Residential Zone and RL, Low Density Residential Zone to Planned Residential Development – PRD for the purpose of constructing a single family detached residential development.  The applicant, Elm Street Development, has requested revisions to the rezoning approval and accompanying Master Plan to permit a mixture of townhouses and single family detached units with a total not to exceed 189 units and as permitted by Condition 7 of Attachment B Conditions of Approval Zoning Map Amendment Bryan’s Village Planned Residential Development Zone.

Citizens wishing to make oral or written comments are encouraged to attend the hearing. Those individuals or representatives of groups wishing to speak must sign in. Speaker sign-up will begin 30 minutes (½ hour) prior to the hearing and will end at the commencement of the hearing.  Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes to speak.  Written comments may be submitted in lieu of oral testimony, or to expand upon oral testimony, to Danielle Mitchell, Clerk to the County Commissioners, at publicrecord@charlescountymd.gov, or to P.O. 2150, La Plata, Maryland 20646. Written comments will be accepted until the Commissioners close the public record. The County Commissioners reserve the right to extend the time frame allotted for the public hearing. Planned Development Zone Amendment (PDZA) # 48-04, Revision #1 is available for review in the Department of Planning and Growth Management in the County Government Building, La Plata, Maryland.
